Bales

Bales- 8" x 8" oil

finished up this little painting over the Christmas break. I am gearing up to put a few pictures in a gallery and this will be one of them (if the gallery owner likes it). I started it on location as I documented here previously and then adjusted a few things and polished it up in studio.

Nice Greg! I really like this one, the hay bales and the way they cause my eye to move around the piece. I just like the scene.

Greg this turned out very nice.

What is it about hay bales that is so appealing?

Thanks guys! Amy, besides the fact that I hauled my share of bales as a teen, I think I like the shape contrast that bales have against the landscape. They have a great graphic presence in a field that I love.

Love this one! And it is a tough subject (at least for me). Shadow on a hay bale is the hardest color to see.

I agree Brad- I totally struggled with the color of the shadow, but I think I got close in the end.
